Franklin  “Frank” McCray Falls, 80, known to most as Pop or Poppy (and “Happy” to a few),was born August 4, 1943 in Ranlo, NC. He retired in 2010 from Cooper Kenworth of Charlotte. He spent his whole career in the trucking industry and knew all there was to know about truck parts.

He was married to the love of his life, Patricia Gaddis Falls, for over 62 years. They eloped on Christmas Eve, 1961, and he had her back home before curfew. He is also survived by his children, Lisa (Kent) Hoyle, Jeff Falls, Michael (Misty) Falls, and Dana (Jamey) Jones, Sister, Patricia Falls Byrd and Brother, Donald Falls.

Grandchildren: Daniel Hoyle, Laura (Garrison) McDowell, Dylan (Shelby) Falls, Bryan (Kelsey) Falls, Katelyn (Seth) Hazelton, Austin (Abbey) Falls, Bailey (Aaron) Miller, Garrett (Bailey) Jones, Connor Jones, Trinity Hoyle

Great Grandchildren: Lyla and Trevor McDowell, Sawyer and Willow Falls, John and Arynlee Miller, Colton Falls, Josie and Brooks Hazelton and Franky Rae Falls

Proceeded in Death by his parents, Clifford and Wilma Falls and his parents in-law, John and Pearl Gaddis.

Pallbearers are his grandsons, Daniel Hoyle, Dylan Falls, Austin Falls, Byan Falls, Garrett Jones and Connor Jones

His love for “piddling” on all things mechanical, especially lawn mowers and garden equipment, was one of his favorite things to do. If it could be cleaned with the air hose and “greased up” that’s what it would get!

He also loved to make his famous “Pop’s BBQ with his secret sauce” for his friends and family.

His tall stature and long arms could lead a choir like no other. The booming bass voice was a favorite in the many quartets and gospel groups over the years.

We rejoice in the knowledge that his body is fully restored and we will join him in the heavenly choir one day soon.

Until then....we love you the most!!

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 10th at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of life service will take place at 1:30p.m., following the visitation with Reverend Roger Wentz officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p,m, at Gaston Memorial Park, Gaston of Prayer section
