Franklin Churchill Monroe Jr, 60, of Lithonia, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025, with his family by his side. Frank was born on March 21, 1965, to Franklin Sr and Ernestine Monroe. From a young age, he developed a love of music, movies, and photography. After graduating from William H. Spencer High School, Frank joined the US Army and pursued a career as a light wheel vehicle mechanic. Family and friends will remember Frank for his humor and warmth. He enjoyed making people laugh. He never met a stranger and had a gift for conversation - whether sharing a story, telling a joke, or simply making someone feel welcome, Frank had a way of brightening the lives of those around him. Frank is survived by his daughter, Melody (Monroe) Perdue, and her husband, Gregory Perdue. His sisters Pamela (Monroe) Davis and Denise Monroe. His nieces, Tanisha and Brianna Davis; his aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a wide circle of friends who became like family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin and Ernestine Monroe. A celebration of Frank's life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Though Frank will be deeply missed, his laughter, love, and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org

I´m deeply sorry for your loss, Melody. Your dad, Mr Frank had such a great spirit-his love for music was something that made him stand out, and I feel lucky I got to know him through you. I hope the memories you shared bring you comfort, and I´m always here for you.
