Franklin P. Sekulic, 88 of Cedar Grove, N.J. passed away on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Born and raised in Centralia, PA prior to settling in Cedar Grove 66 years ago. A veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. An active member of his community, Mr. Sekulic, was a volunteer fire fighter in Cedar Grove since 1963 and was a beloved crossing guard in town, until his retirement just last year.
Prior to retiring, he was a Detective with the North Caldwell Police Department for 32 years, retiring in 2000.
Beloved husband of the late Mary E. Sekulic (Manning). Loving and devoted father of Lisa Lambert and late husband Geoffrey, Franklin P. Sekulic, Jr. and partner Michelle Rubel, Eleanor C. Bergoffen and husband John and Captain Kenneth D. Sekulic and wife Amy. Cherished grandfather of James D. Lambert, Michelle L. Lambert and fiancé Jose Melendez and Dylan Sekulic. Dear brother of the late Teddy, Benny, David and Maryann Hanlon.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 4 - 8 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Franklin may be made to the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad, 651 Pompton Avenue, Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009, would be greatly appreciated.
