Franklin Snyder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shaw Funeral Home, Inc. - Milton on Mar. 11, 2026.
Franklin E. Snyder, 94, formerly of rural Milton passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Vintage Knolls, Danville.

Born in Milton on November 1, 1931, he was the son of the late Jesse and Hattie (Spickard) Snyder. He was married to the former Ruth Seibert. Together they celebrated 65 years of marriage until her death in 2020.

Franklin was a 1949 graduate of Milton High School and served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 serving in Korea. Having worked at the Milton Sears and Roebucks as a janitor during his high school years, he went on to complete the manager's training program after he returned from the service. After serving in several Assistant Manager positions, he was awarded his own Sears and Roebuck Store in Bel Air, MD where he worked for an additional two years. He then took a supervisory position at American Home Foods where he continued to work for the next 35 years until his retirement.

He was a faithful member of the Watsontown Christian Alliance Church where he served as an Elder. He was devoted to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and lived out his faith through his life. He enjoyed doing crossword and sudoku puzzles, hunting, golfing and feeding and watching the birds.

Franklin is survived by daughter and son-in-law Sue and Jeff Klechinski of Sunbury, a son and daughter-in-law Tim and Mary Snyder of Strasburg, five grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a sister, Ruth Greenly of Lewisburg.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers William Snyder and Donald Snyder, and four sisters Edyth Davis, Florence Stahlnecker, Caroline Greenly and Judith Snyder.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in Church Hill Cemetery, 1875 Churches Road, Lewisburg with chaplain Mike Miller officiating. The family would like to invite everyone to attend the light lunch and refreshments to follow provided by the Watsontown Alliance Church, 1165 8th Street, Watsontown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Watsontown Alliance Church or to Residential Hospice, 100 Sterling Parkway, Suite 110, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
