Franklin Delano Valle, 91, concrete worker and US Navy Veteran, of Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood passed away November 3, 2025, at The Breakers at Edgewater Beach.

Born and raised in Benton Harbor, MI, where he graduated from Benton Harbor High School. Frank was a talented athlete playing football, basketball, track, and boxing. Following graduation, he went directly into the construction world where he worked in concrete for over 50 years, Frank was involved in the foundation and building of many Chicago skyscrapers. He was a proud Union Local 1 member, where he received a Gold Card, the highest level of membership.

Frank's stomping grounds included Chicago's Belmont Cragin neighborhood where he raised his family and enjoyed many nights at Foremost Liquor and the Gold Coast neighborhood, where he enjoyed bartending at Tiny Tap and Charlie Trotter's.

He will be remembered for his kindness, his gaudy jewelry, and most importantly his love for others. In recent weeks he was proudly protesting ICE in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood, a true advocate at the age of 91.

"Frankie V" was also a big singer-- he loved karaoke. He had a very youthful presence and would refer to others around his age as "old fogey's". He lived an active lifestyle enjoying swimming and working out.

Beloved former husband of the late Christine Ross. Loving father of Christopher Wingeier, Nicholas (Julie) Valle, David Ross, and Ryan Ross. Proud grandfather of three.

A celebration of life is being planned. Please check back to this website for information.
