Frederick W. "Fred" Brehm, 80, of Milton, PA and formerly of Hanover and Essex, MD, passed peacefully on Friday, Dec. 8th, 2023 at Watsontown Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Watsontown, PA. He was the loving husband of Catherine R. Branthoover. Born Nov. 21, 1943 in Baltimore, Fred was the son of the late Charles E. and Anna (Moroz) Brehm.
Fred was a graduate of Kenwood High School, Baltimore, MD class of 1961. He also was a graduate of the University of Baltimore, class of 1971. Fred was employed as a purchasing manager for Black & Decker for 42 years retiring in 2004. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing in tournaments and golfing on courses on the east coast. Fred was a member of a number of clubs including Bon Air Country Club and Victory Athletic Assn., both in York, PA. He was also a member of the BPO Elks Lodge in Hanover, PA and the American Legion and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Milton, PA.
In addition to his wife Catherine, Fred is survived by two children; Jason D. Brehm and his wife Hannah of Selinsgrove and their two children, Lucas and Elias; and Amanda E. Haynes and her husband Mike of Poway, CA and their two children, Will and Ben. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Luciano of Baltimore, MD. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. Brehm and three sisters, Doris Wright, Rosie Mattheu and Alberta Ramult.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Fred Brehm will be held at 12noon on Saturday, Dec. 16th, 2023 at the Elks Lodge, 47 N. Forney Ave., Hanover, PA 17331 with Pastor Mike Brossman officiating. The family will receive friends, to share memories and express condolences, from 11:00am until the time of the service at the Lodge. Light refreshments will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions, in memory of Fred Brehm, may be made to BPO Elks #763, P.O. Box 376, Hanover, PA 17331.
