Fred Buis Obituary
August 3, 1946 - January 21,2026
Mr. Fred William Buis age 79 of New Tazewell passed away January 21, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Tazewell, TN. on August 3, 1946, to John L. and Cora Brooks Buis who preceded him in death. Fred served in the United States Marine Corp and the Army National Guard. He served as a Tennessee State Trooper for over 5 years and worked as a criminal investigator for the Claiborne County Sheriff Department. Fred also attended the New Tazewell Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents John L. and Cora Buis and sister Nancy Wilder. Fred is survived by his sons Fred Buis and wife Megan, John L. Buis IV and brother
John L. Buis III, grandchildren John Dylan Buis, Connor Buis and wife Sarah, Mikinlea Cora Ann Buis and (Jackson Bledsoe) Josef Garrett Buis, great grandchildren Willow Brook Buis, Ivy Jane Buis and Raleigh Buis. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Per Mr. Buis request a private graveside service will be held in Irish Memorial Gardens with Full Military Honors Wednesday January 28, 2026, at 11:00am with the Rev. Bill Duncan officiating.
Pallbearers: Dylan Buis, Josef Buis, Jackson Bledsoe, Kevin Fultz, Rodney Bolden and Neyland Boden.
