James Lyons Obituary
December 21, 1938 - February 18, 2026
Mr. James Robert Lyons, age 87 of New Tazewell passed away February 18, 2026, at Tri State Health and Rehab. He was born December 21, 1938, in Arjay, Ky to Earl and Mary Grubbs Lyons who both precede him in death. He served in the United States Army from 1957 till 1963. He was a Child of God and a very loving father.
James is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Mary Lyons, brothers Charles Lyons, Vernon Lyons, Earl Lyons, Jr. and sisters Hazel Carnes and Lorine Wallens.
He is survived by his children Monta Lyons and wife Lisa, Michael Lyons and wife Jennifer, Vonda Lyons and Jamie Lyons. He is also survived by his brother Lee Lyons and wife Carolyn, sisters Juanita Rice, Geraldine Harrgette, Carolyn Foster, Freeda Mills and husband Conley and Maire Long and husband Charlie. James is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday February 20, 2026, at 11:00am in the Fairview Cemetery with Full Military Honors and Lee Lyons officiating.
