Fred Wayne Croft, 81 of Bedford passed away on December 5, 2024. A son of the late Jake and Ida James Croft. In addition to his parents Fred was preceded in death by his loving wife, Peggy T. Croft; six brothers, Kermitt, Jack, Maleon, Jeryl, Ralph and Curtis; two sisters, Maxine and Linda.

Fred loved the outdoors, while hunting and especially horseback riding. Fred was a member of Suck Spring Baptist Church. He was a retired boilermaker with Miller Mechanical. He loved spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his four children, Kimberly Croft Moss, Mary Edna Croft, Vicky C. Vaughan and her husband, Todd and Steven W. Croft and his wife, Gretchen; seven grandchildren, Nikki Moss, Tyson Spoloric, C.J. Weeks, Taylor Croft, Emily Vaughan, Olivia Carlin and her husband, Joshua and Augustus Croft; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Arrington and Logan Arrington. Also surviving is a special friend and caregiver, Rosa Verdinella and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

A funeral service and celebration of Fred’s life will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Suck Spring Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00pm Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
