Fred Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service - Greeneville on Dec. 13, 2025.
Fred Allan Davis closed his eyes on earth and opened them in Heaven on Friday, December 12th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Allan, as he was known by all who loved him, never met a stranger he wouldn't help or a baby he wouldn't love. He and his beloved wife, Kathy, were long-standing members of Kingsley Avenue Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed attending when health permitted. Allan had a long and memorable career at Enka/Lowland, where he forged many cherished lifelong friendships. While he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and strumming his guitar, one of his favorite hobbies was mechanics. If he wasn't in his own barn or garage, it was almost guaranteed he was in somebody else's. There wasn't a motor he couldn't build or a mechanical issue he couldn't conquer. Above all else, though, Allan was known for his love of his family. He loved his wife and children immensely, but Allan's favorite title was "Papaw". He and Kathy were blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the light of his life. His love for his babies was truly special and there's nothing in this world he wouldn't do for them. The world is a dimmer place for having lost his bright light but he is completely healed and rejoicing in the arms of his Savior.

Allan is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Ricker Davis, of Greeneville; their children: Randall (Tammy) Davis, Jesse Davis, Tonya Stills and Amanda (Jason) Carter, all of Greeneville; their grandchildren: Brant (Paige) Davis, Samantha (Chris) Norton, Randall Allan Davis, Tyler Showman, Destinee Stills, Aubrey Carter and Lincoln Carter; and their great-grandchildren Payton Norton, Olivia Davis, Eleanor Davis and Braxton. He is also survived by his mother, Marjorie Davis; his brother and best friend and sister-in-law: EJ and Penney Davis; three sisters and brother-in-law: Linda Bowman, Carol Thacker and Denise and Johnny Ragon; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including his special friend, Ruey Davis, and a dear brother-in-law, J.D. Ricker.

Allan was preceded in death by his father, Fred Davis, and two nephews, David Morrison and Danny Morrison.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Patel and the wonderful staff at Tennessee Cancer Specialists as well as the sweet nurses at Amedisys for their care and compassion during Allan's illness.

Visitation with family and friends will be at Jeffers Funeral Home downtown on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, from 2pm to 4pm with a celebration of life to immediately follow at 4pm in the chapel, led by Ruey Davis.
