Margaret Davis

Margaret Seiberling-Davis, 98, was born on September 13, 1927, in Detroit, Michigan. She lived a long, vibrant life marked by a fiery spirit, an impeccable sense of style, a well-known love of good wine, and, most of all, a deep and unwavering devotion to her family.

Raised by her grandparents on the family farm, Margaret learned early the values of resilience, creativity, and independence. She graduated from Norton High School in 1945 and went on to pursue her passion for art at the Cleveland School of Art. She later graduated from Baldwin Wallace University, where she met the love of her life and college sweetheart, Seward Thomas Davis II.

Margaret shared her love of art and learning as an art teacher for 30 years, serving students in Brunswick, Barberton City Schools, and for two decades at North Canton City Schools. Her creativity and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on generations of students.

Together, Margaret and Seward embraced life with joy and adventure as avid boaters. They were proud members of both the Point Yacht Club at Cedar Point and the Sandusky Yacht Club, spending many happy days aboard their beloved boat, The Happy Hobo.

Margaret found joy in the simple pleasures of life-knitting, crocheting, reading, drawing, painting, and gardening. Summers were especially dear to her, spent relaxing by the pool, sharing laughter and stories with neighbors, and making cherished memories with family.

Margaret lived life on her own terms, with style, humor, and heart, and her presence will be forever felt by those who loved her.

Margaret was preceded in death by grandparents, Wilson and Cathern Seiberling, dear husband, Seward II in 2001, best friend Sandy Smith, along with many other close friends and relatives. Margaret is survived by her sister, Marcella Borso, two sons, Seward Thomas Davis III (Judy) and Kevin Davis (Patty) as well as her five grandchildren, Megan, Seward IV, Marissa, Miles, and Matt.

Burial will take place at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
