Joseph Stith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Snyder Funeral Homes, Lindsey Chapel on Mar. 3, 2026.
JOHNSTOWN: Joseph Gregory Stith passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026, in Licking Memorial Hospital, surrounded by his family at the age of 66.

He was born on March 12, 1959, in Johnstown, Ohio, to parents Joseph & Marilyn (Janickas) Stith. Joseph graduated from Norton High School with the class of 1978, and went on to marry Sandra Price on February 3, 1979.

Joseph worked for the City of Bexley as a mechanic for 26 years until retiring in March of 2023.

An avid outdoorsman, Joseph enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed tinkering with cars and was considered a "jack of all trades," able to fix almost anything.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stith; his children, Nathan M Stith and Angela Stith; his siblings, Keri (Bill) Catte, Beth (Rich) Gallo, Kathy (Craig) Rose, and Theresa Stith; and his nephews and niece, Josh Gallo, Jason Gallo, Brianna Rose, and Neil "Hubs" Rose.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his brother, Gary M. Stith; his father and mother-in-law, Donald and Ruth Price; and his grandparents, Joseph and Mildred Janickas.

The Stith family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home-Lindsey Chapel, with a funeral service immediately following at 12:30 p.m. Pastor John Temple will officiate, and burial will follow at 2:30 pm in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
