Fred Dean Obituary
Fred was a caring husband, stepfather, and papaw. He earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science from Northwest Community College, and he served in the U.S. Navy for six months before being honorably discharged. Fred was a Baptist and devoted son who took good care of his mother during her final days. He enjoyed fishing, nature, sightseeing in the mountains, and watching NASCAR. He had a quirky sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his stepdaughters Richele (Arthur) Dunavent of Hendersonville, NC, Michele (Danny) Snyder of Lake Cormorant, MS, Vicky (Bruce) Bayles of Oxford, MS, Myra (John) Brindley of Memphis, TN; brother Larry (Vicky) Dean of Sparta, TN; sister Onita Faye Malane of Sumner, MS; grandchildren Nicole Dunavent Grant, Alan Bayles, Nicholas Jackson, Katelyn Dunavent, Emily Bayles Powell, Noah Dunavent, Rachel Bayles McGonagall, Claire Brindley Hatfield, Collin Brindley; 6 great-grandchildren; and nieces Elizabeth Malane Gee, Melissa Scott, Melinda Dean, Rebekah Wren, Joella Chudy, and Amanda Dean.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years Betty Ann Burchfield Dean, and his parents Fred Eugene and Estelle Ballard Dean.
