Fred Denson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Funerals by T. S. Warden - Jacksonville on Jan. 22, 2025.
Elder Fred Andrew Denson Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and servant of
God, peacefully passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the age of seventy-four. Born on July 10,
1950, in Bridgeport Connecticut. Fred lived a life marked by his unwavering faith, dedication to his family,
and lifelong commitment to serving others.
Elder Denson proudly served his country in the United States Army for six years, demonstrating his
loyalty and discipline in service to his country. After his military service, Fred retired from the United
States Department of Defense after 35 years, contributing significantly to his community and his country.
Elder Denson was a devoted husband of 13 years to Apostle Elect Dr. Loranda Denson. Together, they
built a strong family and ministry that touched countless lives. He was the loving father of two sons, Travis Denson
and Fred Denson, Jr. (Consetta), a devoted stepfather to three stepsons, Reverend George L Reed Jr. (Tammyla),
Brian Reed (Connie), and Christopher Reed. His legacy lives on through his fourteen grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy.
Elder Denson was a man of deep faith and spiritual leadership. He served as the Shepherd of Triumph
the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ in Sanford, Florida, where he nurtured and guided his
congregation with love and wisdom. His leadership extended beyond the local church, serving as First
District North (Florida) Chairman of the Board of Trustees and as a member of the National General
Board, working tirelessly to positively move the organization forward.
Elder Denson formerly served as pastor of O'Neil Memorial Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida,
where his love for Christ and community was evident in every sermon, prayer, and act of kindness shown.
He earned his theological degree from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, Georgia,
where he furthered his knowledge and understanding of the Word. Elder Denson also attended Florida
State College, where he studied broadcasting, highlighting his diverse talents and interests.
Elder Denson was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. George Denson and Mrs. Willie Mae Jefferson-
Denson, and two brothers: Ronald Denson and Larry Denson. He is survived by a loving wife, son,
stepsons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister Arlene Denson-Smith, and a host of cousins, nieces,
nephews, and close friends. His presence will be missed, but his legacy of faith, service, and love will live
on in the hearts of all who knew him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
