Fred Dobbins Obituary
A native of Spartanburg County, South Carolina, son of the late Hollis Lee and Blanche Wilson Dobbins, he was a U.S. Army veteran where he received the Bronze Star, a retired employee of Cryovac Sealed Air, and attended His Vineyard. Fred and Patty met at the Beacon in 1970 and met again at a Marshall Tucker Band Concert (formerly Toy Factory). He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Fred enjoyed drag racing at the Greer Dragway with his brother, Joe and friend, Tommy Hall. He was a founding member of the Chevrolet Nomad Car Club, enjoyed screen printing on the side in his garage for various groups.
Surviving are his wife, Patty Taylor Dobbins of the home; a son, Kyle Dobbins of Asheville, North Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Kristy Dobbins Henderson of Lyman, South Carolina; one brother, Joe Dobbins (Diana) of Greer, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Nancy Green; four grandchildren, Austin Dobbins, Brianna Dobbins, Zachary Dobbins, and Aiden Henderson all of Lyman, South Carolina; and nieces and nephews, Cheryl Couch. Abby Walker, Kevin Wagner, and David Wagner.
He was also predeceased by one son, Brian Andrew Dobbins; one brother, Stephen Dobbins; and one sister, Brenda Bell.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Keith Kelly, with live streaming available. Burial will follow in Hillcrest memory Gardens.
Visitation will be held 2:30 until 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at the mortuary prior to the service.

I have always had a lot of respect and love for my brother in law Fred. He loved his wife,my sister, dearly as well as his children ,grandchildren daughter in law, neices and nephew's. He also loved spending time with his many friends. I dont think Fred ever met a person he didn't like. As his grandchildren used to say poppa could fix anything . He was very helpful with me about car problems. Patty is the best sister ever. She's been there for me alot over the years.
