Fred Edward Duncan, born January 8, 1932, in Fairy, Texas to parents Olga and Della Duncan, passed away in Hico, Texas August 13, 2025, at age 93. Fred also known as "Papa" to family and friends, graduated Fairy High School, loved serving the Lord, poetry, his kids and grandkids. Fred joined the Marines after graduation, serving in Korea obtaining the rank of Seargent. After Fred served in the military he worked Chance Vought as a machinist, then worked for Texas Instruments for 32 years. Fred was a member of the North Texas Travel Club since 2001and went on many camping trips with them over a ten-year period. Preceding Fred in death were his parents, Olga and Della Duncan, brothers, George Duncan, Andy Duncan, Archie Duncan, sisters Essie Hendricks, Myrtle Lusky, Fay McKandless, and Dorthy Derden. Surviving Fred are wife Betty Duncan, sons Ken Duncan and wife Hilary, Paul Duncan and wife Sherry, grandchildren Kristen (Duncan) Fritz and husband Louis, Caleb Duncan and wife Candice, Nick Duncan and wife Jackie, Caitlin (Duncan) Golightly and husband Roe, Rachel Duncan and partner Russell Johnson. Fred is also survived by great grandchildren Ryler Duncan, Tustin Nachtigal, Decclan Duncan, Braden Fritz and Harper Frtiz. Visitation 1-2 pm, Monday, August 18, 2025, at First Baptist Church Hico, followed by services at 2pm with burial to follow at Hico Cemetery with Military Honors.

Dear Betty, Ken, and Paul,

Tom and I are so sad to hear of Fred´s passing. I remember his quiet and kind way with family and friends alike. I know he will be missed terribly by everyone who knew him. But most of all we´re praying that the great love of God will comfort you and bring you peace.
