Fred Fern Farris passed away December 27, 2023, at the age of 73. He was born on March 21, 1950 to Minnie Lee and Hubert Farris, Sr. in Bastrop Texas.
 
He proudly served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War and in the Texas National Guard.
 
He is survived by his four children, Annessia Belew (John Belew), Joseph Farris, Nathan Farris (Natalie Farris), and Hannah Crippin (Brittany Crippin); three grandchildren, Chance McPherson, Kenzie McPherson, and Kamden McPherson. Fred is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn Wolf and Linda Saunders (Glen Saunders); and brothers, Hubert Farris (Lilly Farris), Curtis Farris, and Douglas Farris. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie Lee and Hubert Farris, Sr; sisters, Lois Pace and Inez Haverland; and brothers, Jim Allen Farris, John Wayne Farris, and Robert Farris.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Farris, Chris Carpenter, Russell Pace, Wes Lynch, David Young and John Cassel.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at The Family Worship Center of Elgin, Wednesday, January 3rd from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Fred’s Life will immediately follow Visitation, beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
