Obituary of Fred Finati
In Loving Memory of Fred Finati
May 9th 1940 – February 2, 2026
With a firm belief in the salvation found from Jesus Christ we announce Fred Finati was called to his eternal life with the Lord on February 2, 2026, at the age of 85. Fred passed into the presence of his Savior peacefully, surrounded by the family that was his greatest earthly treasure.
A man of profound faith and immense talent, Fred's life was a testament to the God's love. For many years, he served faithfully as a Deacon at Millington Baptist Church, where he combined his love for the Lord with a heart for service. His devotion to his country was equally steadfast, having served in the Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969.
With a refined ear for music Fred's passion for creativity was evident at a young age. His musical talent led him to achieve the release of a record "Go To School" with his group the Five Reasons. Fred's professional life was driven by his eye for beauty. As an Art Director for several advertising agencies, including Avon in New York City, he released many ads. His creativity didn't stop at the office as he had a passion for photography, antiquing, and traveling. Whether he was behind a camera or a workbench, Fred was always building, creating, and finding ways to reflect the beauty of the world around him.
Above all, Fred was a devoted family man. He leaves behind his adored wife of 62 years, Palma Finati (Zaffarese), whose partnership was the cornerstone of his life. His source of constant pride and joy was found in his four sons and three daughters-in-law: Thomas and Marianne, Richard and Diana, Fred, Michael and AnnMarie. His legacy of love and creativity lives on in his nine grandchildren: Nicole, RJ, Julia, Jessica, Gregory, Anthony, Isabella, Nicholas, and Liliana.
As a husband he loved his wife dearly. With subtle gestures of his love being shown throughout the 62 years. As a father he guided his children through all of life's challenges and triumphs with his faith in Christ at the absolute forefront. Fred, with his backup Palma, was blessed to be able to sing and laugh with all his grandchildren. His smile and laughter was a constant source of joy to those around him.
He is also survived by his beloved sister, Rose Penasso, his cherished brother, John Finati, and many nieces and nephews who will miss his presence and creative spirit. Fred was predeceased by his beloved parents, Riccardo and Mary Finati.
Although we mourn the loss of a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, we do not grieve as those without hope. We rejoice in knowing that Fred is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, finally seeing the full picture of God's glory.
