Fred Elmer Kahle, age 93 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. Visitation will be from 10-11 am followed by the Funeral Service at 11 am, both on Thursday, Aug. 1st, 2024 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Shawnee, Kansas. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church.
Fred was born on December 2nd, 1930 in the Monticello area of western Shawnee, Kansas, and was the youngest of ten children born to John & Anne (Bootz) Kahle. He and his siblings grew up in the Zarah area of Monticello Township. Later Fred joined the US Army serving from 1952 to 1960, during the Korean Conflict. After returning from the service he worked a variety of jobs and did small engine repair so he could stay home and care for his Mother. Fred was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church first in Bonner Springs and later in Shawnee. In years past Fred loved to play the Harmonica with his favorite bands, telling good humor jokes, and enjoyed playing the card game, Pinochle.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by all of his siblings: William, Harold, Clarence, John Kahle, Kathryn Kahle, Gladys Moore, Elizabeth Kirch, Helen Benson, and Dorothy Shroyer. Nieces and nephews: Ed Moore, Patty Novich.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews: Danny Ristow, Darlene Logsdon, Betty Logsdon, Annie Aguero, Marcie Duncan, Dinty Moore, Theresa McNeff, Rose Bunce, Bill Benson, III, Tina Perez, John R. Kahle, Sharon Lawson, Jannet Wright, Debbie Verren, Shirley Higgins, Charles Kirch and Jesse Kirch.
