Fred Martin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Crawfordville on Feb. 2, 2026.
Fred Wilkerson Martin Jr., 76, of Crawfordville, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026. Fred proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated his career to the construction industry as a contractor and heavy equipment operator. Hardworking by nature, Fred was seldom idle-whether he was on the job, mowing the yard, working on his backhoe, or repairing something around the house. If he wasn't busy with his own projects, he was always helping someone else. Fred deeply loved his family and friends, and his grandchildren held a special place in his heart. He was known for his love of antique cars, his unforgettable stories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Wilkerson Martin Sr. and Margaret Christine Reed Martin. He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Teresa Martin; his children, Jody Martin (Zach) and Jeremiah Martin (Jennifer); his siblings, Robin Martin (Gail) and Pam English (Jack); and three beloved grandchildren, Chelsea, Grace, and Mason. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Tallahassee National Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of Young Family Funeral Home in Crawfordville. Skip and Trey Young, along with Paula, Heather, and Amanda, are honored to assist the Martin family. 850-926-5919
