Fred Douglas "Doug" Mobley, 85, of Plantersville, Alabama passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family Monday, September 15, 2025.

He was born June 29, 1940, in Alabama, son of the late Willard Mobley and the late Lannice Evie Athalee Barrett Mobley.

Surviving are his Wife of 64 years, Shirley Ann Martin Mobley; Daughter, Valerie Ann (J.C.) Smith; Granddaughter, Julie Hollon; Grandson, Jimmy (Rachel) Smith; Great- Granddaughters, Andrea Smith, Amelia Smith, Abby Hollon; Sisters, Geneva Willette, Molly Giles, Gail (Keith) Marchant; Brother, Thomas Leroy Mobley; and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Willard Mobley; Mother, Lannice Evie Athalee Barrett Mobley; Sisters, Dora Alice Hayes, Merle Eulene Walker, Johnnie Lee Walker; Brother, Willard Eugene Mobley; Grandson-in-Love, Evan T. Hollon.

Friends will be received Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Plantersville, Alabama.

Services will be held Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Powell and Rev. Ellis Stewart officiating.

Interment will follow in University Highway Church of God Cemetery, Maplesville, Alabama. Pallbearers include Jimmy Smith, Kerry Walker, Phil Walker, Leon Dees, Jeffrey Redding and Keith Marchant.

A very special thank you to Erika Wendell, Brooke Jones, Christy Thomas and Sharon Jones of Enhabit Hospice.

Family requests fresh flowers only, no potted plants.
