Fred Perteete Jr.

Fred "June Bug" Perteete Jr. of Rockford departed this earthly life September 25, 2024. He was born January 22, 1944 in Mississippi the son of Fred Sr. and Woodsy Perteete. Fred lived in Rockford since 1946 coming from Mississippi. He was employed by Warner Lambert over 40 years before retiring. Fred was a faithful member of West Side Church of Christ. He attended Rockford Public Schools.
Fred leaves to cherish many loving memories, three sisters, Mattie Perteete, Henrietta (Michael Williams) Dotson-Williams, and Barbara (James) Johnson; four brothers James Perteete, Jim (Millie) Perteete, Clifford (Clare) Perteete and Thomas (Dorcus) Perteete; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers Elijah, Charlie Perteete and two sisters Alfreda Jones, and Jennie Prince.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at West Side Church of Christ 1523 Morgan Street. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Doors will be open from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
