Fred Raymond Pfeiffer, 85 years old, of Hartford, WI, passed away with his family by his side on July 11, 2025, at Spero Gardens in Hartford, WI.
He was born July 17, 1939, in Milwaukee, WI to Harry and Selma (Krause) Pfeiffer. He married Naureen Mary Neu on May 12, 1962, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Neosho, WI. He is survived by his wife Naureen of 63 years and their 5 children. Richard (friend Carrie) Pfeiffer of Oshkosh, WI, Sheryl (Neil) Willman, of Iron Ridge, WI, Ronald (Terry) Pfeiffer of Horicon, WI, Robert (friend Diane) Pfeiffer, of Hartford, WI, Mary Kay (Jon) Landgraf of Erin, WI. 9 grandchildren: Eric, Ryan (Andrea), Amanda, Chelsea (Joshua), Vicki, Daniel (Rachel), Joseph, Olivia and Michael. 9 great-grandchildren: Aurora, Mason, Hunter, McKenna, Kaiden, Kiley, Brooklyn, Levi and Lauren.
He is also survived by his brother-in-law, George Aulenbacher of Clyman, WI, brother-in-law, Wayne Neu of Neosho, WI and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roger and Kathleen Horst of Hartford, WI. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Selma Pfeiffer, his in-laws Hugo and Catherine Neu, his brothers Gerald & Edward Pfeiffer, his sister Janet Aulenbacher, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Harold 'Butch' and Arline Neu and sister-in-law, Donna Neu.
Fred graduated from Hartford Union High School in 1958 and was very involved in woodworking classes. He was the state champion in the 880-yard dash and had the school record in track for a long time and all of his children wanted to break Dad's record.
Fred worked at The Hartford Casing Factory from 1955 to 1969 where he met Naureen and said "she is going to be my wife'! Fred then worked at Wacker Corporation for 32 years in the Welding and Fabrication department until his retirement in 2001. Then after retirement he worked at Hartford School District Joint 1 in Food Service as a sub.
Throughout Fred's life he was always helping someone whether it was putting on a new roof, repairing something, concrete work or building something. He was always busy.
Fred enjoyed playing cribbage, sheepshead, fishing, golfing, woodworking, traveling, spending time up at their summer cottage in Phillips, WI, and simply spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in Fred's memory are appreciated.
Funeral Services for Fred will be held on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church (1001 Center St., Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 a.m. until the start of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Bartholomew Cemetery in Rubicon, WI.
