Fred Leon Plott March 14, 1953 – March 18, 2025
Fred Leon Plott, beloved husband, father, brother, "Popa", uncle and friend, went to join his Heavenly Father on March 18, 2025, having celebrated his 72nd birthday on March 14. Fred passed away unexpectedly at home in Gold Beach, Oregon. He was a kind, generous, and loving person who touched many lives.
He was a gifted musician and songwriter who recorded three gospel albums and wrote "Victoria's Song" honoring his love for his wife at their wedding. He loved all sports, but experienced great joy in teaching young children his favorite game – golf! He was an avid fan of the Oregon Ducks!
Preceding Fred in death were his parents Carl Vernon and Emma Plott Hodnett and his daughter, Fermina. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Victoria; daughters: Jill, Lindsay Logan Hoey and Shelby George and her partner Michael Stokes; sisters Tempest (Alfred – deceased) Hammock, Linda
(Bill – deceased) Crabtree, Janice (Gary) Hollandsworth Nancy (Ronnie – deceased) Martin and Rhonda (Dwight) Bower; son-in-law Dan'l King and numerous nephews and nieces.
His special love was given to his grandchildren: Logan (Stretch), Sebastian (Sebby), Olivia (Oloveia), Lillian (Ubbabub) and Emma (YumYum)! Also cherishing his memory are numerous friends and acquaintances. He never met a stranger!
He was a golf instructor and professional caddie who began at Bassett Country Club in Bassett, Virginia, and ended at Cedar Bend Golf Club in Ophir, Oregon, by way of LaCosta, Spyglass, Edgewood Tahoe, Bandon Dunes and many famous courses all over America and the world. He was instrumental in the construction of World Tour International of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina – the "Gold Capital of the World."
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wild Rivers Animal Rescue, 29921 Airport Way, Gold Beach, OR 97444 where Fred previously served as the Treasurer.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date. Redwood Memorial Chapel assisted the family.
