Fred "Don" Presley, age 86, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on August 30, 2025 at Maury Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jack Malone and Fred Porter officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Park in Lebanon, Tennessee. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born November 3, 1938, inTemperance Hall, DeKalb County, Tennessee, Don was the son of the late Shellie Mae Lawrence and the late Joseph Presley.
Don married the love of his life, Joy Marie Potts, on September 14, 1960. Together they celebrated sixty-four wonderful years of marriage, even working side by side. He was a Cosmetologist for fifty-six years and owned Coiffures by Don hair salon in Lebanon, Tennessee for over fifty years. Always the sharp dressed man, Don was a people person and never met a stranger. As a member of Graymere Church of Christ, he was often a door greeter and loved being active and going on trips with the Senior group. A loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his Children: Mark (Patricia) Presley, Brentwood, Tennessee; Christopher Presley, Spring Hill, Florida; Dana (Ben) Pennington, Columbia, Tennessee; Grandchildren: Grayson Pennington, Lillian Pennington, Tristan Presley, Jaden Presley, Ashlyn Presley; Great Grandchildren: Peyton Pennington and Rosaline Presley.
Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Pennington, Grayson Pennington, Tristan Presley, Phillip Kinslow, Tony Kinslow, and Chris Presley.
