Fred Rood Obituary
Frederick John Rood was born on May 22, 1949, in Highland Park, Michigan. He was one of two children from the union of Alfred Rood and Loretta (Pietrykowski) Rood.
Fred graduated from Mott High School in Warren, Michigan and continued his education by obtaining an associate degree. A hard worker, Fred was employed for many years as a welder.
Fred married the former Kristina Laney on June 16, 2001.
He was an active member of the Jaycees, and was a huge history buff. Fred enjoyed visiting museums and Civil War Battlefields.
Frederick John Rood, age 73, of Dundee passed away on Saturday; May 13, 2023, after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer. His passing was preceded by that of his parents: Alfred and Loretta Rood.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife: Kristina Rood; a sister: Kathleen (Bill) Giffin; and a nephew: Jamin (Samantha) Hartle.
His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. Cremation will take place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan. A memorial service honoring Fred's life is being planned for a later date.
