Fred J. Schautz Sr.

Fred J. Schautz, Sr., aged 88, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. He was born on July 14, 1937, in Newark, NJ, to the late Frederick T. and Katherine Schautz. Fred moved to Live Oak from Maxville, FL, in 1990. A proud veteran, he served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Fred was the owner and operator of Schautz Trucking in Live Oak, where he worked diligently until his retirement after thirty years. He was of the Catholic faith.

Fred is survived by his two sons, Fred J. Schautz and his wife Janice of Live Oak, and Larry T. Schautz and his wife Carlie of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by his brothers, Larry and Bobby Schautz of New Jersey, as well as his grandchildren, Jessika Schautz, Kaitlyn Stokes, and Kyla Schaitz, all of Live Oak. Fred leaves behind two great-grandchildren, Riley Vaughn and Ramsey Hinkle.

A celebration of Fred's life will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 10th, at Daniels Memorial Chapel, with a visitation taking place prior to the service at 10:30 am.
