Clarence "Fred" Smith, lovingly known as "Poppy" to his family, a lifetime resident of Sloatsburg, New York passed away on January 13, 2022 at the age of 79. Fred was born on November 2, 1942 in Tuxedo, New York to Clarence and Winifred Smith. He worked most of his life as a construction worker, working for both Dell and Tilcon. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to "tinker" in his garage in his spare time and could fix almost anything. You could always find him chatting with friends, taking rides around town and dining at his favorite local restaurants.
Fred lived for his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 59 years, Marilyn, mother Winnie Smith of Sloatsburg, daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Benjamin Quintana of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, son and daughter-in-law Sean and Jennifer Smith of Sloatsburg, grandchildren Benjamin, Alex, Kelli, Kristofer and Nicole, sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Dave Beyerlein of Bend, Oregon, and many nieces and nephews.
