My thoughts and prayers for the Wappel and Mizzou families. Fred will always have a special place in my memories. He is the reason I attended Mizzou. I attended his summer athletic training camps and when I was making my college choice, I called Fred to ask how to apply for a student trainer position. He answered "you´re hired". Four years later I completed my degree and continued in the athletic training profession for over 20 years. I was always the most proud of the award I received with Fred´s name on it. Fred is an iconic Mizzou legend and had a powerful impact on all he touched. Thanks for the memories Fred and RIP.

If you knew Freddy, you loved Freddy. Always made time for me and others. He was genuine and a very special man. My condolences to the Wappel family. He will be missed, but we will always have the stories and memories he openly shared.
