Linda L. Sutherland

Linda L. Sutherland (Reynolds), age 85, of Columbia, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1940, in Aurora to George and Marcella (Kramer) Reynolds.

Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald Kartheiser; her beloved son, David Kartheiser; and her parents.

On August 7, 1999, she married Dennis Sutherland, and together they shared many happy years filled with love, travel, and family.

Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Sutherland; her children, Michael (Dena) Kartheiser and Diane Kartheiser-Warner (the late John Warner); her brother, Richard (Lorrie) Reynolds; and her cherished grandchildren, Emily, Madelyn, and Haley.

She is also lovingly remembered by Dennis's children, Sheila, Pamela, Debra, Michelle, and William, and his grandchildren, Ryan, Nick, Allie, Brenna, Zack, Sean, Jake, August, Will, Gabby, Ella and one Great Grand Son Madden, all of whom she embraced as part of her extended family.

Linda was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend, happiest when caring for her home, family, and pets. She had a deep love of travel and especially treasured trips to Ireland, Luxembourg, and Montreal, as well as many visits to Arizona and Florida. She worked as a manager at Buffy's Store for Children, where she formed lasting friendships. An avid reader, Linda especially loved her Kindle and could often be found enjoying a good book.

Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 10:00am – 11:00am with service at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Dr. Columbia MO 65202.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association and Our Lady of Lourdes.
