Lewis Watson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this earthly realm on November 29, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 73. Born on March 9, 1952, Lewis devoted his life to God, his family, and his work. He spent many dedicated years as a Credit Manager for Southwestern Public Service, where he was respected by colleagues and clients for his character, integrity, and steady leadership.
Though his formal education concluded with high school, Lewis carried a lifetime of earned wisdom—the kind gathered through faith, experience, and hard work. He was a man of many gifts, finding joy in carpentry and the serenity of fishing. A passionate baseball enthusiast, a lover of golf, and an avid bowler, Lewis embraced each moment with a genuine spirit. His wit was quick, his humor effortless, and he carried a clever charm that brought laughter to everyone around him, paired with a selflessness that shaped the way he loved.
Lewis’s greatest devotion, second only to God, was his family. He cherished his loving wife, Frances Watson, who stood faithfully by his side through life’s many adventures and joys. Together, they built a home filled with love and laughter. His children—Kathryn Watson of Austin, TX; Ivy Watson and husband Matthew Mewborn of Longview, TX; and Stephanie Watson of Austin, TX—carry forward his legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering support.
He was blessed with seven grandchildren—Abbi, Evan, Sinclair, Dovie, Olivia, Kynlee, and Ella—and one great-grandson, Indigo, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Lewis also leaves behind his loving sisters, Fredia Mendick of Longview, TX and Letha Watson of Sierra Vista, AZ, who will carry his memory tenderly in their hearts.
Lewis is preceded in death by his cherished parents, Fred and Imogene Watson, and his brother, George Walter Watson. Though he has left this world, the love, faith, and kindness he sowed throughout his life continue to flourish in the many hearts he touched.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Lewis’s remarkable life will be held on December 4, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway St, Lubbock, TX 79401. A funeral service will be held on December 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM, concluding with an interment at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, memorializing his life, faith, and the indelible mark he leaves behind.
As we bid farewell to Lewis Watson, a man of integrity, devotion, warmth, and steadfast love, we take solace in the memories he gifted us, the lessons he lived, and the unwavering faith that guided him. His presence will forever resonate in the lives of all blessed to know him.
