Fred "Woody" Wiese

Fred F. Wiese, "Woody" passed away unexpectedly January 2, 2025.
Woody, as everyone came to know him, was born on August 23, 1963. He was raised by his loving parents, Charles (Pril) Wiese, Martha "Marty" Moore and loved by his two siblings, Wendy (Chris) Carter and Vance (Ali) Wiese.
From the time Woody was a young boy, he had a fondness for animals. He especially enjoyed horses and dogs, and even played polo as a teen. He graduated from Parkway Central, then attended the University of Tulsa and Forest Park Community College, where he developed an interest in restaurant management. Woody managed several restaurants in the St. Louis area and in Rochester, MN, where he happily resided with his wife of 24 years, Peggy until his untimely death. Many people he worked with in the restaurant industry became like family to Woody.
Woody never met a stranger and had many friends that always spoke highly of him. People were drawn to him for his warm smile, hilarious sense of humor, especially when with his sister Wendy, and his gentle spirit. His pride and joy was his son, Christopher (Taeylor) and enjoyed many years of watching him play ball. He was also proud to tell people about his stepdaughters and their spouses, Suzanne (Chris Oakes) Iovaldi, Emily (Eddie) Albany, Lauren (Matt) Hickey, and Jamie (Chris) Jones. Woody was also a special uncle to Kate, Maggie, Ava and Jane. Also a source of great pride and love was for his and Peggy's grandchildren, Mairin Hickey, Walker and Hunter Albany and Amelia Jones. He was known as "pops" and was eagerly awaiting two more grandchildren in the spring.
If you asked Woody where his favorite place to be was, he'd quickly say Madden's in Brainerd, MN on Gull Lake. Woody loved nothing more than fishing, floating in the lake or playing several rounds of golf with his best buddies, Bob (Jenni) Swenson, Cal (Tish) Donnell and Mark Powell (Rhonda Lockwood) and many others. At home, he spent many hours going to the park with his faithful furry companion, Tela and listening to his favorite music and having a cold Bud.
Woody will be and is already greatly missed by all who knew him.
A private celebration of life will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Woody would want donations to be made to your favorite animal charity or shelter.
