Kennith Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 3, 2026.
KennyAnn Wilson

KennyAnn Wilson, born on November 30, 1940, in Gary, Indiana, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on February 26, 2026.

She grew up in Northwest Indiana in a large and lively family, where days were often spent on the farm, in the apple orchards, and learning to swim. From an early age she was remarkably athletic, and at one point trained for the Olympic Games as a swimmer - a testament to her discipline, determination, and love of the water.

She attended the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Over the years, she held a wide variety of jobs, including working for a law firm and in retail. In Beaufort, South Carolina, she served as a docent at the historic Verdier House, where she delighted in sharing her love of history and community with others.

KennyAnn had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of travel. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada and embraced every opportunity to explore new places. Over the course of her life, she lived in multiple states, including Oklahoma, Indiana, Illinois, and Connecticut, as well as in

the U.S. territory of Guam. Each place she lived became a part of her story, and she carried friendships and memories from every chapter of her journey.

She and William Wilson were married for over 57 years, building a life rooted in love, faith, and family. Together, they shared a great love of music and spent countless nights dancing and entertaining. Their gatherings were filled with joy, laughter, and lively conversation - parties that friends and family always looked forward to attending.

KennyAnn was truly the heart of her family - a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, incredible cook, and gracious hostess. She was also an exceptional decorator with a passion for collecting antiques. Her home was her sanctuary, a place she lovingly curated and took immense pride in. It reflected her warmth, elegance, and welcoming spirit. KennyAnn was a devoted member of the Catholic Church. She was an active Eucharistic minister and faithful in Eucharistic adoration, living her faith each day through quiet acts of kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for others. She loved the ocean and remained an avid swimmer throughout her life. She adored her dogs, enjoyed traveling and reading, and always loved a good card or board game - especially when it brought family and friends together around her table. Gathering everyone close was one of her greatest joys.

She is survived by her devoted husband, William Wilson; her children, James and Cleo Meyer; her daughters-in-law, DJ and Donna; her beloved grandchildren, Conner, Meyer, and McKenzie Wilson; her brother, Donald Diehl of Amsterdam, New York; and his wife, Sarah Diehl. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jane Diehl; her father, Cleo Diehl; her beloved grandson, Michael Lee Wilson; and her previously deceased husband, Charles Don Batton of Galveston, Texas.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Beaufort, South Carolina. A Burial Mass will be conducted at noon on March 6 at the Old Catholic Church on Carteret Street. She will be laid to rest at the cemetery on the church grounds following the Mass.

Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
