Theodore "Teddy" Thomas

Theodore "Teddy" Thomas passed away peacefully at his home on February 28, 2026. To those who knew and loved him, he was simply "Cool Breeze." He was born on August 3, 1953.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Edward Thomas and Pearl Davis Thomas; his brother, Eddie "Fast Eddie" Thomas; his sister, Robin Thomas; and his beloved dog, Bubba.

Teddy was a true South Island native - a lifelong "water man" whose heart belonged to the coast. He worked with the USC Baruch Marine Field Laboratory and spent much of his life on and in the water, doing what he loved most. Growing up in South Island, he could often be found fishing at the ferry, casting a line with the patience and quiet wisdom that defined him.

He had a deep appreciation for the simple, salty pleasures of Lowcountry life - eating oysters, shrimping, and raising soft-shell crabs. Teddy proudly owned and operated Teddy's Bait Shop, serving friends and fellow fishermen who shared his love for the water. His many travels with Skip Inman brought him great joy and lasting memories.

He is survived by his dear South Island friends, Michele Jolly and Jamie Warr, along with a number of cousins who will cherish his memory.

A memorial service will be announced at a later time.
