Freda M. Nelson

Freda M. Nelson, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 15, 2025 at Whispering Pines, Plover, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Gary Markworth will officiate. Burial will take place in Arpin Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
Freda was born on January 9, 1937, in Palmyra, to William F. and Nellie (Ching) Stanton, the youngest of 5 children. At the age of 3 her family moved to the Vesper/Arpin area. She married James E. Nelson on August 12, 1956, in Arpin. James preceded her in death on May 8, 2019. Freda owned and operated the Swiss Flower Shop in Vesper for 25 years and also farmed with her husband for many years.
In retirement Freda spent much of her time crafting. She made various blankets and prayers shawls that she donated to local cancer centers for many years. Anyone could always stop in to work on the next puzzle.
Freda is survived by her children, Doug (Diane) Nelson, Sue (Archie Wiesendanger) Lobner, Emily (Matt) Woyak, and Valerie (Nate) Kailhofer. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, Judy Huber, sister-in-law, Larry Nelson, brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews and their families.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whispering Pines and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care Freda received prior to her passing.
