Freda Jo Wilkinson, 83, of Levelland passed from this life on January 10, 2024.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Krestridge Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born May 24, 1940 in Brownfield to Cub Newsom and Syble Willis Newsom.  Freda met Bob Wilkinson at the end of her sophomore year in 1956 at Brownfield High School, thus beginning a 68-year love story.  On February 23, 1958 after Freda graduated high school at Christmas break, she and Bob were married.  Their holy union produced three sons and a beautiful little daughter.

Freda loved God and her family.  She never met a stranger and was happiest socializing with family and friends.  Freda loved dogs and was an avid reader.  She was a member of Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cub Newsom; and mother, Syble Newsom.

Freda is survived by her husband, Bob Wilkinson; sons, Ted Wilkinson of Kingston, Oklahoma, Tim Wilkinson and wife Dawn of Keller, Texas, and Bryan Wilkinson and wife, Stephanie of Lipan, Texas; daughter, Cathy Baccus and husband Keith of Levelland, Texas; brother, Jimmy Newsom and wife Susan of Levelland, Texas; grandchildren, Tracye Simmons and husband Jerrod of Prosper, Texas, Jill Urioste and husband Andrew of Amarillo, Texas, Tyler Wilkinson and wife Barri of Celina, Texas, Cale Baccus of Levelland, Texas, Ethan Wilkinson of Keller, Texas, Jake Wilkinson of Fort Worth, Texas, Ben Wilkinson of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Zane Wilkinson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Grady Baccus of Levelland, Texas; 5 great grandsons; 6 great granddaughters; beloved nephews and nieces; lifelong friends, Bobbie Nell and Buzz Cooper; and her faithful little companion, Max.

The family would like to say a very special thank you to the doctors and staff at Covenant Hospital Intensive Care Unit.
