Freddie Arellano, went to be with our Lord on April 23, 2017. Despite humble beginnings, Freddie achieved a happy and good life through grit, bravery, confidence, and a tireless work ethic. These traits combined with his outgoing, friendly, and funny personality made him a character to remember whether you were an old time pal or a stranger in line sharing a story. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Army and completed basic service in Kentucky and was later stationed in Germany. After returning stateside, Freddie worked for the City of Albuquerque and retired after 30 years of service in Waste Management and Weed & Litter. He loved family and always provided for them through hard work. He enjoyed riding his bike, driving his truck, working in his yard, and would share candy or gum with both children and adults alike. He will be sorely missed but not forgotten. Freddie was predeceased by his son, Jerry Arellano. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sally; sons: Richard Arellano, Freddie Arellano, Andrew Arellano and wife Yudan, Clayton Arellano and wife Juliette, and Barton and wife Mary; daughters: JoEllen, Susan and husband Mike, Lilia and Jacquelyn; brother, Bennie Arellano; 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. Freddie's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Sunday, April 30, 2:00 PM at Salazar Mortuary (400 3rd St SW) followed by a Service at 3:00 PM also at Salazar Mortuary. Burial will follow Monday, May 1 at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 9:45 AM. Please share your memories of Freddie and condolences with his family by signing the guestbook below.

Aunt Sally... I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Jr passing. He is at peace now in the arms of the lord. I will always remember him always smiling. Oh and the funny stories he would tell. Very funny man. I smile when I think of him and his stories. He was blessed to have you and his kids in his life. I can see him smiling with those loved ones he is reunited in Heaven with. It gives me peace to know they are together. Love you all.
