Funeral services for Mrs. Freddie Jean Taylor, of Baskin, will be 11:00AM Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in the chapel of Young's Community Memorial Winnsboro with Jamie Slade officiating, and special friend, Lisa Griffin giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at Reagan Cemetery in Baskin under the direction of Young's Community Memorial. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time-of-service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jean was born on September 12,1940 in Litroe, LA and passed away June 8, 2025, in Monroe, LA at the age of 84. Jean was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, nanny, and friend to many. She and her late husband, Charles, owned Taylor's Quick Stop in Baskin. During all the years she worked at the store, she came to know just about everyone in the community and built many lasting friendships. Jean also loved reading novels and watching her favorite cooking shows on television. You could always count on her to grow a vegetable garden every summer and never missed a chance to cook a great meal for her family and friends.
Jean will be remembered most for her kind loving heart and deep love for her family, always putting other people's needs before her own. She loved it unconditionally and is now reunited with her daughter Barbara who she missed dearly.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her daughter, Barbara Jackson; her parents, Odelle and Elizabeth McLemore; and three brothers, Jake, Floyd, and Jr. McLemore.
She is survived by three children, Mike Taylor, Bo Taylor, Terri Darden and husband, Hunter; her brother, Bobby McLemore and wife, Joy; her sisters-in-law, Annette Lee and Ann Trull; her son-in-law, David Jackson; three grandchildren, Amanda Jackson, Brittney Smith, Logan White and husband, Brent; and seven great-grandchildren whom she adored; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Wade Thompson, Mike Curtis, Clint Shirley, Sammy Lee Jr, Chris Mock and Shorty Shirley.
