Freddie Emmitt Whitaker Jr. was born on May 23, 1960, in Salem, Missouri. He was one of two children born to Freddie Sr. and Betty Louise (White) Whitaker. Freddie grew up in Salem and graduated with the class of 1978 from Salem High School.
Freddie was a proud father and even prouder pepa, adoring his eight grandchildren with every ounce of his being. His passion for their accomplishments knew no bounds. The countless hours spent with his family exemplified his love and support for them.
Freddie was a hard worker and throughout the years worked as a car salesman and operated Lucky Me Resale Shop. His heart and passion were in music. He loved to DJ at school dances as well as the Roadhouse. He was a band member of Tune Tossers and as a band took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee. After several years, they regrouped and called themselves, Second Time Around.
Freddie was a man of faith. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping others. During Thanksgiving, he provided free meals at the auction house. His faith, family, and friends were most important to him.
Freddie entered eternal rest on November 9, 2024, in Salem, Missouri, at the age of sixty-four years. Those left behind to treasure his memory include his loving daughters: Danielle Whaley and husband Chad of Mt. Grove, MO, Paige Williams and husband Devian of Rolla, MO, Abigail Whitaker, and Madison Whitaker; son: Michael Watson of Salem, MO; mother: Betty Whitaker of Salem, MO; brother-in-law: John Fann of Salem, MO; grandchildren: Micah, Caleb, Brooklyn, Ava, Sophia, Chloe, Olivia, Alexa, and one on the way; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
Preceding him in death were his father: Freddie Whitaker SR; sister: Cathy Fann; grandparents: Willard and Opal White, Estel Whitaker, and Thelma Welchel.
Freddie was one of a kind and true inspiration to many. He was well-known for his sense of humor and his quick wit. His humor and his presence in the lives of his family and friends will be deeply missed.
