Freddy Earl Johnston, born on August 21, 1943, in Marshall, Texas, passed away peacefully from natural causes on November 5, 2025. A dedicated family man, Freddy cherished his time with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren, Nickolette and Chandler Odom.
Freddy was a well-respected business owner and operator in the automotive industry, where he made a significant impact through his hard work and dedication. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was passionate about hunting and gardening, spending many joyful hours outdoors. He enjoyed sharing stories of his adventures and the bounty of his garden with family and friends.
Freddy's love for his family was at the forefront of his life, and he created many memorable moments through his kindness and sense of humor. He served in the National Guard, which exemplified his commitment to his community and country. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created with those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Johnston; his daughters, Marcy Odom and Stacy Hickman; sons-in-law Chad Odom and John Hickman; siblings Linda Garner, Carrol Johnston, Glen Johnston, Joann Reddick, and Judy Jones; several brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and 71 nieces and nephews.
Freddy was preceded in death by: Clinton Johnston, Elizabeth Johnston, and Eugene Johnston.
Funeral services will be held at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel on November 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by the service at 2:00 PM, with an encore livestreaming available for those unable to attend in person. He will be laid to rest at New Hope Memorial Gardens at 3:00 PM.
