Freddy Thomas Pharris, age 73, passed away peacefully at his residence in Little Bend, Kentucky, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Born on Thursday, February 21, 1952, in Grayson County, Kentucky, Freddy's life was a testament to the enduring spirit of love, laughter, and dedication to family.
Freddy was a graduate of Butler County High School, where he formed friendships and values that would last a lifetime. On February 1, 1974, he married the love of his life, Kathy Read Pharris, and together they built a life filled with joy and cherished memories. Freddy's career as a coal miner and heavy equipment operator was marked by hard work and a strong sense of responsibility. A man of many interests, Freddy was an avid outdoorsman. He found solace in hunting, fishing, and farming. Freddy enjoyed gardening, and canning the fruits of his labor. He also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places, but above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family. Freddy's sense of humor was infectious, and his ability to find joy in the simple things was a gift to those around him. He was also incredibly handy, always ready to lend a helping hand or fix anything that needed repair. His adventurous and funny nature made him a delightful companion on any journey. Freddy was a member of Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Little Bend, KY.
Preceded in death by his parents, Hilrie and Littie Evaline Embry Pharris, his daughter Amanda Jo "Mandy" Pharris, his son Jeremy Shane Pharris, and his siblings Ronald, Garry, and Gerald Pharris and Peggy Tucker.
Freddy's legacy continues through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kathy Read Pharris of Little Bend, KY; his son, Jordan Pharris (Audrey) of
Morgantown, KY; his three grandchildren, Emmett, Phoebe, and Franklin Pharris, all of
Morgantown, KY; his brother, Bro. Joe Pharris (Ava) of
Morgantown, KY; his sister, Gloria Clark (Richard) of
Morgantown, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Joe Pharris and Bro. Gary Embry officiating. Burial will be in the Point Pleasant Cemetery where Bryan Pharris, Derrick Clark, Michael Tucker, Denton Pharris, Kevin and Keith Klutts and Johnny, Ben and Brad Pharris will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday December 5, 2025 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm and Saturday 10:00am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Point Pleasant Cemetery Fund 7030 Highway 269 Beaver Dam KY 42320 in memory of Freddy.
