Frederic "Fred" J. Zeiger, 71 of Syracuse, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Lincoln. He was born on December 6, 1954, in Winterset, IA to Clarence "Wayne" & Frances (Cary) Zeiger.
On December 20, 1974, Fred was united in marriage to Lee Ann Witt in Lincoln. Fred worked as a cardiovascular technician in the Cath/EP Lab at Bryan Health. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army for 10 years.
Outside of work, he had a deep love for playing softball on the hospital team, cheering on Nebraska sports and most importantly, being a devoted parent and grandparent. He rarely missed his children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. He also enjoyed exploring new restaurants and trying new experiences.
He is survived by his sister, Angie (Dale) Ripa; partner, Vickie Britten; sisters-in-law, Jan Zeiger, Colette Bradley & Brenda Kuper; children, Steve Zeiger, Minh Seney and Quyen Huynh, Matthew (Shelly) Zeiger, Paul Zeiger, Lucas Zeiger, Abraham (Krysti) Zeiger, John Zeiger, Amelia Zeiger, Benjamin Zeiger, Cliff (Kelsey) Zeiger; grandchildren, Thomas Pham, Elizabeth Pham, Megan Seney, Emily Tompkins, Bryce Zeiger, Kaylie Zeiger, Krayton Zeiger, Avery Lewis, Nevaeh Zeiger, Kyarah Zeiger, Alex Zeiger, Anthony Zeiger, Brenyn Zeiger and Carson Zeiger; four great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lee Ann; son, Anthony Bryan Zeiger; and brothers, Ron Zeiger & Clif Zeiger.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 10:30 a.m. at Luther Memorial Church in Syracuse. The family invites those attending to dress casually and/or in Husker attire. The service will be livestreamed on the Luther Memorial Church, NE YouTube page.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family to be distributed between Luther Memorial Church and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
