Frederic G. Wheeler, 88 of Belfast passed away on March 10, 2023 at the Sussman House in Rockport. He was born on April 8, 1934 in Camden, Maine the son of Walter and Myrtle (Phillips) Wheeler.
Fred worked for over 35 years at the Camden Shipyard as a carpenter. He was an avid collector of guns, tools and many other useful things and will be remembered for his handy nature. Fred's skill allowed him to build quality furniture pieces by hand and he gifted them to many family members over the years, something they will cherish. He enjoyed camping, fishing and going up to their spot at Swanlake feeding the ducks.
He is predeceased by his parents, daughter Linda Moody, brother Stanley Wheeler, and daughter-in-law Sharon Robbins.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Viola (Canning) Wheeler; sons Larry Robbins of Belmont, Jerry Robbins and wife Dianne of Belfast, and Gary Robbins of Bangor; niece and nephew; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren all of who were very special to him.
A graveside service will be announced in the spring at Grove Cemetery in Belfast.
Arrangments are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home.
