Frederick Battle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thorne's Mortuary, Inc. - Stuart on Nov. 18, 2025.
Frederick G. Battle was born on January 15, 1958 in Blountstown, Florida, to the late Johnnie and Jeldrine Battle. Frederick's presence was a radiant light, gracing the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
Following his family's relocation to Stuart, FL in 1959, Frederick blossomed into a remarkable individual. He completed his education at Martin County High School, where his warm spirit and compassionate nature endeared him to classmates and faculty alike.
During his high school years, Frederick found joy as a member of the cheer squad under the guidance of Coach Sue Shelt. After graduating, he embarked on a fulfilling career in construction, working alongside his father for 20 years with Dickerson Construction, and later with Eddie Huggins and Mancil Construction. Frederick's expertise in operating heavy equipment was unmatched, and he poured his heart into his work until health challenges led him to retire.
However, Frederick's true passion lay on the softball field. He was a powerhouse player for various leagues, including Micheal Drafthouse, Treasure Coast Merchants, Stimmel's Sports Shop, Palm City, DeLucas Showtime, Peter Hickey Associates, Sunshine Groceries and Church of God. Renowned as the "cleanup man," Frederick's skill and sportsmanship earned him admiration wherever he played. His love for softball took him to countless states, forging friendships and leaving a lasting impact on all he encountered.
Frederick departed this life on May 2, 2024. He will be deeply missed by his cherished family: Brothers; Freddie L. Davis of Cerritos, California, Wilfred Battle of Stuart, FL: Sisters; Ida Mae Crist, Mary Hammer (Doug), Rita Battle, Joanna Battle all of Stuart, Florida, and a sister-in-law, Felicia Battle, of Port St. Lucie, Florida. His love extended to his goddaughters, Marisa and Samantha Witte, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, uncles, aunts, and countless friends, all of whom he held dear.
Though Frederick may have left this world, his spirit of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire those who were blessed enough to know him. His memory will forever be a beacon of warmth and joy in the hearts of all who loved him.
