Frederick Gilbert Bunke

Frederick Gilbert Bunke, 87, of Botkins, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home. He was born in Lima, Ohio on January 5, 1937, a son of the late Frederick Henry Bunke and Maxine Ellen (Harris) Bunke. 

On June 24, 1956, Fred married Shirley Ann (Parlette) Bunke and she preceded him in death on March 26, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Jessica Bunke, and sister, Marjorie Lotz.

Fred is survived by his three children, Sherri (Tim) Reier, Mark (Kathy) Bunke, and Steve Bunke, all of Jackson Center; five grandchildren, Angela (Steve) Ambos, Tracy (Tim) O'Linn, Sara (Jeremy) Evans, Derick (Katie) Bunke, and Fred (fiancé Riley Jackson) Bunke; 11 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Fred had owned and operated Prodeva in Jackson Center. He was a member of the Jackson Center United Methodist Church, past president of the Jackson Center Village Council, past master of Jackson Center Lodge #458 F&AM and enjoyed playing golf.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the Jackson Center Methodist Church, 202 E. Pike Street in Jackson Center, where Reverend Randal Bratka will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Seventh Day Cemetery in Jackson Center, Ohio.
