Myron Dale Bunke, 91, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025 at his home in Rushford, Minnesota with his daughter by his side.
Myron was born on August 9, 1933. Myron attended Rushford Community School through the 8th grade and went on to serve in the Army as a Military Police officer. He then pursued farming and various other interests: spending 10 years delivering bulk mail, 10 years on the Township, managing Martha's farm for 15 years, and 20 years in Custom Combining. Myron “officially” retired at the age of 75, but never truly stopped working. He continued to mow lawns, drive the Amish to work destinations, deliver vegetables, and just last month still handled snow removal for local businesses, often heard joking about his pricing model.
In 1977, Myron married Barb Konkel, with whom he shared a daughter. They later divorced. He married Helen Baker on June 15, 1985, and they spent their lives together in Rushford.
Myron's hobbies were closely tied to his work and friendships. He was President of the local Tractor Club for a number of years and coordinated several local tractor rides and attended local parades with friends and his daughter on his International Harvester. He could be found many mornings visiting friends for coffee.
Myron is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Phyllis, and his brother Norbert. He is survived by his wife, Helen; his sister Vickie Talbot; his daughter Tammy (Jim) Kronebusch; stepchildren Dale (Theresa) Baker, Philip Baker, and Wanda (Sam) Burden; five grandchildren, Destiny (Tyler) Bigalk, Andon Kronebusch, Malarie (Joe) Kruetzer, Stephanie (Royal) Anderson, and Trevor Baker; and a combined seven great-granddaughters.
A service to celebrate Myron’s life will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11am at Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford, with visitation one hour prior to service.
