Frederick B. Chrysostom

Frederick Bunny Chrysostom, 71 of Lynn, passed peacefully after a lengthy illness at Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody. Born in Trinidad to the late Frederick and Sheila (Lewis) Chrysostom, he was raised in Trinidad and was a graduate of St. Benedict's College.
Frederick moved to the US in 1972 and attended North Shore Community College in Beverly, where he received an Associates Degree, and was the captain of his soccer team. He began his career at General Electric in Lynn and then worked for many years as a maintenance technician at Greater Lynn Senior Services (GLSS) of Lynn.
He found joy tending to his vegetable garden, breeding fish and capturing memories through photography. He had a passion for coin and stamp collecting and he enjoyed relaxing to Calypso music and his favorite oldies from the "Nat King Cole" and "Big Band" era. He was also a member of the Bethel AME Church in Lynn for over four decades where he sang with the Joyful Noise Men's Choir.
Frederick is survived by his sister Marcia Chrysostom Flemming and her husband Marvin Flemming of Lynn, his sister Wendy Chrysostom of Norwood, sister Rosanna Lights and her husband Vernon of NJ, brother Brent Chrysostom of Canada. He also leaves behind his aunt Daphne Francis of Lynn, numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Kendal and wife Cheryl Chrysostom, his brother Gene Chrysostom, and his nephew Khary Chrysostom.
Frederick's legacy will live on through the countless lives he has touched.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Bethel AME Church, 72 Silsbee St. Lynn. Visitation will be held in the church prior to the service from 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to his beloved Bethel AME Church through Venmo: @Bethel-AME-Church-Lynn.
