Frederick Lewis Dudash
Frederick Lewis Dudash "Fred" passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025, in the comfort of his home. He was 83 years old.
Fred was born in
Blairsville, Pennsylvania, on May 10, 1942. Born to Joseph Dudash, Jr. and Grace Snyder Dudash, he was the youngest son in a large family. He had two sisters, Darleen Dudash Kunkle and Karen Dudash, along with two older brothers, James and John, who all predeceased him. After his 1960 graduation from Laura Lamar High School in nearby Homer City, Fred decided to join the military and enlisted in the United States Army. Originally stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky, Fred then served overseas in South Korea and Germany.
After three years of service, Fred returned to his original home but shortly after followed his mother and siblings to Sarasota. Although he worked briefly for local companies, he soon opted, with his brothers and nephews, to learn construction and established several construction companies. In addition to his work in construction, he bought, managed, and leased rental homes and commercial buildings.
Fred was a dedicated family man and sports enthusiast. He had one daughter, Aimee Elizabeth Dudash Camp, who predeceased him in 2020. He devoted much of his life to Aimee and the interests of his nieces and nephews. He spent many hours enjoying sports, family holidays, and providing a second home to them. He continued that constant support for his grandson, Jayden Lewis Dudash, Aimee's son. From the time Jayden was very young, Fred attended every soccer, football, and basketball practice and game, and recorded the games. Later, Fred entertained himself and others by sharing this video library.
Fred also enjoyed serving as a member of the Sahib Shrine and was active in the Vette Unit and the Jesters. He dedicated many hours to volunteering for the organization and dearly valued the friendships made. Fred was married for 34 years to Donna Daeke Dudash. She and Jayden will remain in the home. Fred was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, and friend, all of whom will miss him deeply. The family would like to thank the service they received from his Tidewell Hospice team along with his special caregivers.
