SWANTON - Frederick Honsinger, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
He was born on December 15, 1945, in Fairfield, VT to the late William & Florence (Thompson) Honsinger.
Frederick was a proud Navy veteran, his service was marked by bravery and honor, recognized with awards of the national defense service metal and Vietnam service medal with two bronze stars.
He found his calling as a tool and die maker, dedicating 35 years of his career to Union Carbide in the production industry. He was known for his meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering work ethic, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
Beyond his professional achievements, Fred found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid sports enthusiast, he found solace in the game of golf, where he spent countless hours perfecting his swing. His love for sports extended to cheering on his favorite teams and creating lasting memories with friends and family. Frederick was also a very proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed every moment spent making memories with them.
Frederick is survived by his children, Michael Honsinger and his wife Della, Brian Honsinger, Marc Honsinger and his wife Nicolle; grandchildren, Marc Honsinger Jr. and his wife Lara, Joseph Honsinger, Tyler Honsinger, Eric Honsinger, Ashley Bushey, and Benjamin Honsinger; his great-grandchildren Emily Honsinger, Hunter Honsinger, Lily Honsinger, Aubrey Honsinger and Aaren Honsinger; siblings, Linda Loyer, Donald Hakey, Diane Bard, John "Monk" Hakey, and Eli Hakey; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Fredrick was predeceased by his stepfather, Ed Hakey, and his uncle Clarence and his wife Anita Honsinger, his aunts Ila Cheney, and Jesse Hoffe.
Family and friends are invited to Frederick's life celebration on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, to include a visitation from 4-7:00 PM, with military honors taking place at 6:30 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Ave., Swanton, VT 05488.
