Fredrick Eugene Hutson, 62, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025 in Wilburton, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the Jones Harkins Funeral Home Chapel.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Austin Family Cemetery with Chaplain Paul Brady officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jay Austin, Cody Austin, John Wiggins, Dennis Kitchens, Chester Carroll, and Joey Ratcliff.

Fred was born to John and Mary Hutson in Columbus, Ohio. He was a graduate of the Ohio State University and George Washington University. He also attended the University of Texas.

He was a geologist, working in the oil and gas industry, and traveled all over the world including Antarctica. He loved his job, and could tell you about any rock! He also taught at the University level.

Fred had several hobbies, including playing his drums, picking up the guitar, playing golf, fishing, traveling, rock hunting and trying all kinds of food.

He was a loving person whom never met a stranger. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge of geology with everyone. He was a kind and caring person, and all who knew him, loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John Hutson and Mary (Echenrode) Hutson.

Fred leaves behind to cherish his memories his true love, Doris Austin; his siblings: John Hutson and wife Susan of Florida, Mary Louise Hutson and partner Jeff of Ohio, Herbert Hutson and wife Marilyn of Florida, and Joan Hurray of Michigan; nephew, Jemal and wife of Germany; niece, Brittany Latoche and husband Jim of Ohio; great niece, Lilian; great nephews, John Hutson, Brad Latoche, and Hutson Latoche of Ohio; along with numerous other family and friends.

Fred also leaves behind his Oklahoma family through Doris, daughter, Windy Long; sons, Jay Austin and wife, Amber, and John Wiggins and wife Renasa; grandchildren: Cody Austin and wife Jordon, Rowdy Austin, Colton Austin, Stormy Dull, and Blake Dull; great grandchild, Cooper; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Loretta Prock, Patricia Holly and husband, Jim, Ronald Clark and wife, Carol, Lenora Ratcliff and husband, Larry, Lawanda Iseman, Wilma Collins, and Kathy Kitchens and husband, Dennis.
